Yep, sounds good, until you get a year where road salt season starts early.  Unhappy

Here's an update

The 2023 Las Vegas AMC Reunion is on and we will have a host hotel this year. The show is going to be held on November 3-4 at Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino (www.railroadpass.com). For those of you who may not care for Railroad Pass, there is another excellent option, the brand new Holiday Inn Express & Suites which is directly behind Railroad Pass. It's quite beautiful! We will have rooms blocked both at Railroad Pass and Holiday Inn Express & Suites.

The “Pass” is a great venue for the show.   We will have a large and secure fully paved show field.  They also offer great room rates and excellent lighting and security.  Plus the weather in early November is usually fantastic.

The Friday tour will be a Lake Mead cruise aboard the famed Desert Princess. Built especially to cruise the clean, blue waters of picturesque Lake Mead and tour the Hoover Dam, the authentic, three-level, Mississippi-style paddlewheeler. Built-in 1991, and the pride of Lake Mead Cruises, the Desert Princess is a three-level paddle wheeler certified by the US Coast Guard. She is spaciously equipped with two climate-controlled enclosed decks and an open promenade deck – perfect for taking in the cool, clean air and wonderous sights.

With plenty of room to move around and get comfortable, ample outdoor deck space to take photographs and videos and a smooth ride, the Desert Princess makes for an unforgettable Lake Mead experience.

Lake Mead Cruises 490 Horsepower Cove Rd, Boulder City, NV 89005

Tour date: November 3rd

Children (Ages 2-11): $20.00

Cruise Length

90 Minutes

Lake Mead Cruises is located inside the Lake Mead National Recreation Area which does not have posted street signs.
The National Park Service charges a fee to enter the area which is $25 per car.
NPS Annual pass holders are exempt from paying the park entrance fee.

If you have any questions about the cruise, email me at chicago0516@yahoo.com

The Friday FREE BBQ will again be at Bicentennial Park, one of the largest and nicest parks in Boulder City. The park features plenty of parking for our cars, a gazebo, clean restrooms and playground for the kids. We will also have use of the grill and picnic tables. We have the park from 1-6. If you decide not to go on the cruise, you certainly can go to the park. The BBQ starts at 2pm.

The car show/swap meet will be on November 4th from 9am-3pm. Full itinerary for day of show TBA.

For more information, contact club President Dion Stams (dionstams@sprintmail.com) or 702-688-2073).

The 2023 Las Vegas AMC Reunion is rapidly approaching.  Registrations are coming in very slowly.  If you have already registered, thank you.  If you haven't yet, why not?  I can tell you that the t-shirt for this year will be very special and the trophies for Best of Show and People's Choice are awesome.  We know last year was a little disappointing but we believe the show this year will be back to what you have come to know and love.  We are working very hard to make that happen.  We'll see you on November 3-4 at Railroad Pass in Henderson, Nevada!

My neighbor Steve and I will both be there.  He's bringing his '68 Javelin and I'm driving my '72 up.  For those who don't want to stay at Railroad Pass and find the Holiday Inn Express a little too pricey, the Hoover Dam Lodge is ten minutes away from the show site.  It's nicer than the former and cheaper than the latter.  There are also a couple of older ma and pa motels in downtown Boulder City that are quite reasonably priced, and the downtown area has a lot of history and charm, and some good restaurants too!

I'm staying at Railroad Pass. I like funky old historic hotels the same way I like funky old historic cars. Besides, the Iron Rail Cafe has the absolute BEST French toast.

I stayed at the El Rancho Motel in Boulder City last year and liked it quite a bit. They were good people and took care of us.

I'm driving there this year in my 1982 Concord DL. I'm hoping to sell it this time.

Not sure what the issues are with staying at RR Pass.  Other than the insane mask rule and a bit of smoke smell near the casino I had no issues staying there 2 years ago. No problems with the room, and the food was great. Not in the cards to go this year, unfortunately.
