A Gremlin with a 232 and stick shift (three speed in my case!) can get squirrely on you if you pop the clutch, I imagine that one gets squirrely if you aren't careful with the go pedal at all times!!

Just stomp on it in 3rd gear at about 45 mph and you will break traction. Just get the secondary's to kick in is all it takes. It can be quite the handful if you aren't careful.
Got some parts all nice and cleaned up. Sure is nice to not have to work 12-14 hours a day. Dead
Winter wheat has all been planted, so now it's time to get ready for spring planting and get things cleaned up and repaired.
Timing cover, oil pump housing, water pump pulley, intake splash shield and a few nuts and bolts.
Crank is standard, bores are standard but I've never seen a crank with a dollar sign on it..
Or at least I didn't notice it on the other crank. Bearings are date coded 73.
Block is next for clean up. Wire wheel on the angle grinder with some diluted purple power should do the trick... It's really grimy like most old motors. Approve

Are the parts in the tubs media blasted? If so, what do you use?  Thanks.

Yes..
I have a solvent tank that I soak everything in for a couple of days to help loosen up the bigger chunks and remove most of the grease and oil. It also helps get the old gasket material to come off easier. Then a soft wire wheel on a drill gets most of the crud off.
I use my buddies blast cabinet. He had at the time a glass bead mixture with sand. Used low pressure because the sand can really remove more of the soft cast aluminum and really isn't recommended for cast aluminum.
If you use straight glass beads you'll be good. Sand works well on hard steel like pulleys, valve covers, nuts and bolts ect.

I just read your build thread and really enjoyed it! I had three factory V8 Gremlins, 72, 73 and 74. The 73 was a manual so I put in a t-10 with a mild 401. Scroll down to see the Gremlins on my website. Thanks for documenting your build so well, I felt like I was right there with you. Now I wish I was going for a drive in it.

Thank you..!!
There were times where I thought of changing the name of the thread to "trials and tribulations".
But I guess like most projects good things come to those who wait and never give up. Had quite a few set backs, but I was able to get through and I think that I did a pretty good job in the end.
Again..
Thank you for the kind words.. Approve

You have earned the praise, I can see some of what you went through, even documenting health problems along the way. I was thinking about something you said today, I was installing motors and regulators in the door of a non-AMC for power windows and I remembered "patience". Yes, sometimes it is good to walk away and pick up later.
I wish I knew where my Orange 73 Gremlin, 401, 4 speed went, if anyone ever sees it, I would love to buy it back.

This is one of the best build threads on the site, all due to the great documentation of BrotherBamc!!
