The past little while I've been cleaning up the underside. Scraping, cleaning and prepping for a fresh coat of black. Definitely not "show" but she is much cleaner now. I just changed out the original shocks for some KYB gas versions, these should improve the handling on the big comfy couch! After almost 50 years the originals didn't have much left in them. A fresh oil change and a little more cleanup.

Did some cleanup on the wiring etc under the hood and a little detailing last night for an evening show today. She cleans up good in pictures but this car is definitely a driver.

Today was install new carpet in the cop car day (in case it wasn't on your calendar!). It was a long, very hot, and sweaty day in the sun. I have found 1 socket in the past (rolling around in the drivers door) and today I found 3 more wrenches, $2.18 in change, a piece of trim, a small light bulb and a bunch of burnt up matches! The new ACC carpet fit pretty good and sure looks great with the original interior. Did a little work on the communications tower brackets while it was all torn down and cleaned up the seat tracks and bolts and sprayed them with a little rattle can love. It was a shame to install the original rubber AMC mats! |

Had the car out yesterday making the most of the last dry day in the forecast for a while. Took the camera along for a few pictures.

Be thankful that you were not cleaning out the back seat of a "real" cop car of that era, the things you would find were frightening.
I love the car!

Seriously cool, do the cops ever stop you and tell you the car looks too much like a real cop car? Wouldn't they have a problem with that? I suppose not since I haven't read any problems like that so far in your posts! Seriously cool car though!
