I am in the process of purchasing my first AMC product, a '69 Rebel. It seems there are tons of parts available for Javelin/AMX, but little listed for Rebel. How similar or different are the suspension and steering parts between Javelin/AMX and the Rebel? I'm concerned about the condition of the trunnions and would like to know if there are parts to rebuild them.

Not much will interchange between Javelin/AMX and Rebel suspension. Ball joints and trunions are different. Rear suspension is completely different. Front shocks may be the same? Not sure about tie rods.
67-69 Ambassador (67 Marlin too) and Rebel should all interchange with each other.

62 American Convertible (still worth the $50 I spent in 1973!) AMCRC #513, AMO #384
70 AMX 360 4-speed (since 1981)

Front suspension (trunnions) on Rebel should be the same as the Ambassador through 69 so normally doesn't wear the same as the smaller bodies. The pivot is a greaseable bearing. Upper and lower arm bushings, lower ball joint are the usual wear part like any other car.
Rear suspension is the same as Matador/Ambassador to the last big body made

And 488 is correct,  and these big body cars are very good.
The 74 to 78 matador coupes are part of the big body car family too
