Will this not fit the 70 style air cleaner assembly?

THANKS musictoys for doing the almost impossible these days. I placed my order this morning without any issues. I'm guessing less than ten days ETA?

Others are more experienced than I, but I was under the impression that the 70 Ram Air lid was the same as the 'normal' air cleaner, but the outer ring was trimmed off.  If this is true, than the air filter would be the same between models (ram air or not) and the shape of the center of the lid would be the same as well.  Others have told me that they took a 'normal' air cleaner lid, trimmed the outer portion off, and chromed the lid.

If that is true, then there is the potential to buy a new 68/9 air cleaner lid and trim off the outer lip.  I'm not sure if this can be done without discoloring the chrome.... or maybe you just have a rust-free base to have the chrome stripped and reapplied after trimming?

Sorry to divert from the original post...
Mike

1970 AMX, one step forward, one step back. Both steps cost time and money.

Mike - you beat me to the question.  I was also wondering if a cut down version would work on a 70 ram air car.   - JJ

Any chance you have any of these reproductions not chromed? If the center is good chromed or not, they can have defects in chrome or in the outer part of the lid.

Make me #3 on this as I think the SC/Rambler uses the smaller lid along with the Machine.

I would like to know if your oil caps have the breathing mesh in them like the originals?
