If the center tabs are not making contact there would be no spark. Have you verified no spark now? The center tab on the cap has to make contact with the center tab on the rotor. Put a dab of grease on either (but only) one of the tabs and put it back together. Spin the motor a little. Remove cap and see if anything transferred to the other. Might be worth just getting another cap and seeing if its different. You can never have enough spare parts. |

I just ordered the replacement part that your link was talking about. After thinking it over and talking to some older guys I know they seem to think that could be the problem. Fingers crossed it will work when I replace that part. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks again.

That was exactly the problem. She fired up after an engine adjustment and a fuse change. She has a little misfire but we will figure that out! Thanks so much for the assistance.

I'm just a little confused. Was it the Pertronix module as Trader's link described or the distributor cap? Either way, I know we're all glad you're up and running again.
