The switch happened with the '67 models, when new safety standards went into effect. Those did not require collapsible columns. GM/Chrysler/AMC went that route. Ford did not at that time. |

Good thing I put "IIRC" in there, leaving myself some margin for error! NHSA was signed in 66, but didn't affect 66 models... Thanks for the correction!!
