Weekendrambler, the air cleaner I have measures 2.25", by way of a tape measure. I can use a caliper to be more precise. Pm if you are interested, and I can take pictures.

Definitely interested. I think that's about the right size, the Holley 1940 measures 2 7/32" which is within a margin of error:

First video in the series of restoring and spicing this car up. Not sure how long it will take but it's not the destination, it's the journey.

I've been slowly going over stuff in the power barn. I took the carburetor off and rebuilt it with a kit from Mike's Carburetor Parts. During that process, I found some interesting things on the throttle body linkage that I'm certain are not factory. From what I understand, the Holley Model 1940 is not factory, so I'm guessing it was hacked together in order to make it work.

Carb off:

That's not factree:

All cleaned up and rebuilt:

Also got it up on jacks to confirm which transmission it has and it has been replaced. Still has the factory original T-96 3 speed:

Popped open the valve cover as well to see if it was obvious that the valve seals were leaking. There was some rust and sludge on the top end that is going to need to be cleaned up, so it was hard to determine if it is the indeed the valve seals:

I did a video on rebuilding the carburetor that will hopefully help someone else down the road if they do this themselves:

I would try Goof Off to try and clean the door tag. If that doesn't work carefully try lacquer thinner.

I've not thought of that. Thanks for the suggestion👍

Hi Ollie -

Do you still have your brake drums?

Thanks.

I haven't made much progress yet. I did find that the engine is pretty much toast. Working on figuring out a cool swap for it :-)
