Not too sure if this is a dumb question, but what is a good reliable brand of steering wheel puller I should use to take off my steering wheel?
I'm going to confront the job of trying to fix the three speed colum shifter and according to the tsm I will need to take off the steering wheel first. Also, I've never used one before, how is it used?

This is what it looks like, and you need it, or the Kent Moore version, or you will damage that old wheel! |

There's a buttload of Kent Moore puller all starting with the letter j...
The rambler on in the first link for the worth wood is 5290, I guess I would need to know the thread pitch of the threads in my steering wheel before I can search accurately for the Kent Moore version you talked about...

J-5290 is the Kent Moore tool. I just sold one a couple months ago. Only other option is to build your own as shown in the link. Edited by BU1 - Feb/03/2023 at 7:46pm |

I thought Walt Garson (in southern California) offered his version of that puller for sale. I think he used to advertise in the Rambler Reader (AMCRC club newsletter). Joe

When I search for it I only find this...
KENT-MOORE J-5290 STATOR RACE INSTALLER POERGLIDE TRANSMISSION TOOL Are you sure you have the part number right? Also, I sent an email to the amcrc to try and connect with this Walt Garson member.

That's an old site. I just showed it for the picture. That tool is long gone.
