Wow, that axle and hub is a fine example of true rust welding, it's amazing those two parts ever separated.

BTW, excellent home remedy.

I have an old Snap-On hub puller, but what I usually do is pull the hub w/backing plate, cut/remove the bearing so the backing plate comes off, then take the axle/hub to the local machine shop. They charge me $10 per axle to press them apart.

That is a great little tool.

If you need a tool and don't buy it...
you'll eventually pay for it...
and not have it.

This is the hub puller I made. It works for both AMC and Jeep model 20 axle hubs. It uses all 5 lug studs to pull from and I have never found a hub that it won't remove------yet!

The basic design is similar to what AMC and Hudson dealers used to be able to buy from Kent-Moore Tools.  I know it would be expensive to make, but I'm pretty sure you could sell a few of those.

Where did you find a center bolt like that?

That center bolt is a standard Snap-On puller bolt.

Now you are just showing off, that's a nice piece of work and puts my agricultural effort to shame.
