It's been around for years and works really good. I've used it on a few small panels but not for rust patches.

It's been around for maybe 20 years.
In use long enough to show that's it's not the cure for every situation.
 
I've seen several failures,  had one myself early on.
But that was my fault,  didn't use enough overlap.

Used exactly to directions, it's handy sometimes,  but I'd not throw away that Mig yet if I were you.

it's been around for ~20 years as said.  It doesn't replace a welder and from what I've read can sometimes be "seen" when a quarter panel heats up.  Welds with a skim of filler don't do that.  For a DD, this doesn't matter; for a show car, it does.

 I used SEM panel bond when I repaired and replaced my trunk lid lower hem also on the rear hem of the hood.

 As part of the repair I had to open that lid and cut out the rotted sections then weld in new metal, for some reason the lower picture posts up rotated?

That's the way I like to use it.
In areas where moisture gathers,  and has a difficult time getting out.

If you put a few welds on that lip,  it's almost impossible to fully seal the weld area off from possible moisture intrusion later.  Weld thru primer, and cavity spray helps, but it takes just one imperfection in the coating for rust to start.
That's why I do use panel bonding at the bottom of rocker panels, around door skins, and some other places.  But on most structural panels I still weld.
