Well, I took the windshield out the other day and what a mess. I see why you should not use a adhesive or any other type of sealer. This thing has sealant , adhesive and putty of some type. It was so brittle I was able to break some of the inside lip off and push the windshield out. It’ll be a couple of days of prep work before I get ready to try the install. Thanks again for the info

Well....
So much for a couple of days. I am finally getting ready to install the windshield and I have a copy of the TSM and going to follow that and hope it goes in without to much trouble. I’ll update as soon as it’s in

Lol (erm, not funny :-) not only are they old, they are at the mercy of really terrible repair work. Glad you persisted! I look forward to hearing about the results. I can't tell you how many hours it took to achieve complete leak-free on my 68 American but it was worth it. I did a '63 Classic looong ago, it was peculiar but worked out well.

I finally got the windshield reinstalled over the weekend. The string method worked great. All I have left is put the inside trim on. Having a copy of the TSM is a must. Now I want to find some good door seal kits
