Hi,
Just wondering if maybe there’s a member near me (Jackson, MI) who has the spring compressor for the 68 AMX trunnion system.  I need to change my bushings and ball joint, and prefer not to kill myself in the process…

Thanks!
John

John, do a search here on this site. It can be done with no special tools. I just did mine this summer. Scott Campbell's book shows how to do it. (Ohio AMX on here). I have posted info here on how I did mine also. Don't have time now to re post all the details. It's not as bad as some make it out to be.

P.S. I would never use the factory spring clamps on any 54 year old spring cups. Way to much harnessed energy there to trust the rusty ears on the spring cups.

Thanks, Scott!
I did read about doing it without a compressor, I’ll have to search again for the info.  I think I’m going to reuse my original springs, as they’re giving me a stance I like with the new HD rear leafs.  I have new bushings and ball joints I’d like to switch out, and I’d like to clean up & paint the springs, and install new cushions, but I was a bit concerned about diving into it.

I guess I need to ‘just do it’, as the saying goes…
