Setting up the brake booster on the 63 Ambassador wagon.
Should there be a gasket between the booster and the master cylinder? Wasn’t one when I disassembled. And what is the nominal clearance for booster push rod and mc piston. Old clearance was way off which was likely a big contributor to granny brakes. Seems general info is for about .020”. Thx Dave |

I've never seen a gasket on a Bendix booster in any application. I do not have a '63 parts book but there is no MC gasket listed for the later models. As to the pushrod clearance, unless you have some specific dimension, it seems that 0.020" is appropriate. Edited by 6PakBee - Oct/01/2022 at 9:56am |
