When in doubt, drain it out.

Mixed reviews on this one.
I personally never have had any issue with older gas in my old cars. Fill it to the top with some Sta-Bil added at the end of the season and put it away. Gas in some of the cars, part of it might be 3-4 years old After my dad's death he had about 10 cars that were drivable, some hadn't been moved in 5+ years. Only 2 had issues with that I could blame on the gas, both cars were what my mom and dad drove to parades the year before they died so the gas was maybe 2 years old at the most. Thinking they both got gas at the same time and at the same station and it went bad. 1 car (the woody Lebaron) worked its way out of it with fresh gas, the other ('65 Marlin) despite draining the tank and rebuilding the carb I am still dealing with problems and getting a rebuilt fuel pump to see if that helps.

My opinion is above. I would rather give up a tank of year old gas than risk having fuel system problems in the spring. No one can say for sure what the outcome will be. I guess it comes down to how lucky you feel.

The tank won't rust if it is full of fuel. Don't worry about it.

Sometimes a guy gets lucky, I'm just relating that experience because it's almost too much to believe. The White70 sat for 18 years in an unheated garage on jackstands and with cardboard underneath it to insulate it from the concrete floor. It got started a few times over those 18 years, I would rotate the engine by the belts whenever I thought about it and it got driven twice. I never added to the fuel in the tank. When the car came out of storage to get driven to car shows and for fun again, I filled it up with fresh gas and away we went. I have had the tank off the car several times since then and still cannot find any corrosion. I got very lucky.

Same here. I switched to SeaFoam and haven't had a problem since with anything.
