Has anyone documented the installation of Jaguar independent front and rear suspension into a Rambler? Or the installation of the XK6 engine?

Yes, Frank Swygert has done it. It's documented here some place you'll just have to look for it. Frank used the AMC engine though in an AMC. !963 station Wagon as I recall. Not sure if Frank been on this site for a while. I believe he broke down on the way to Kenosha a couple weeks ago and I've not heard any thing since. LRDaum

Franks car has a XKE rearend, I think,  stock type front end.

 The XJ6 may be different.

I was wrong,  XKE and XJ6 use the same basic rear end,  just the XJ6 is wider.

Couldn't find anything searching "Swygert", 1963 wagon, Jag suspension, etc.... still hunting, though. Quick; somebody give me the overall length of a 232 with the fan in place, etc

It'd be easier to contemplate if the driveshaft didn't pose such an issue. changing the tailshaft on the stock trans to a u-joint style would be necessary. the actual IRS install wouldn't be bad at all. Still, it's giving me inspiration....

You don't have to change the tailshaft. If you have a torque tube and plan on keeping the stock engine and trans just take the tube out and slip a later model open driveshaft on. Seal is the same, so are splines (should be same as a M-11, IIRC).

If you read my post on installing the XJ6 axle, you will note that I had to use a deep offset wheel (5.5" backset, 7" wheel), which limits what wheels you can use. The Jag also uses 4.75" x5 bolt pattern (old big Chevy). If you use the front as well you can use the XJ6 wheels -- they are deep offset. It's best to mount the way I did the second time, using the Jag "cage" on the rear axle assembly and the rubber mounts. Easy to install that way, no real fab work, just drilling some holes and cutting plate. I used a drill press and a porta-band in my shop.

Would the factory Jag wheels work? I have both front and rear suspension assemblies to work with.
