Hello, I was curious to see if anyone has the wiring diagrams for the lighting system. As long as my car has been sitting, I may completely redo the wiring in parts.

My poor car has sat for god knows how long! And it is so old anyway, figure it would not hurt to do that! Also, I would actually love to have the complete wiring diagrams for these cars.

If there are not really any readily available, let me know and I can post all the pics of the process of replacing the wiring if anyone else would like a little tutorial type deal.

A Technical Service Manual for your year car will be a good investment, it comes with wiring diagrams, and all for troubleshooting. Most likely you will be trouble shooting as there are a lot of things that become problematic with long term non service just like wiring,

Does Haynes make a book? I have a Big Green Book for my 01 celica, it has 1 book for wiring, 1 for the body and chassis, and 1 for the engine..... I love it. $200-300 a set but so worth it and more detailed than Haynes.

Put a want ad on the forum for a factory TSM for your year car. Not very many aftermarket manuals are as detailed. Should not be too expensive I purchased a 71 TSM for $30.00 for costs reference.

Great detective work!!!

The wiring on AMCs is pretty simple as far as lights............ but beware that there are options in some cases that means your car may not have something shown in the TSM (Technical Service Manual)
Usually the options are shown separately - so that shouldn't be a big deal.
