Make a difference vacuum or electric wipers, if I recall. Electric wipers have an electric pump mounted on the bag.
I believe vacuum wipers used a foot operated pump for the washers - I've owned several but geesh, that was years ago.
So I'd say "only if it was electric to electric, or vacuum to vacuum wipers. Vacuum was common, electric an option.
Not sure if there were other differences, such as bag width, etc. Edited by billd - Jun/08/2008 at 9:45am |

Billd is absolutely correct. My 70 electric with motor on the bag measures approx. 9" across and 10 " long to where it hooks on the firewall.

What I often do with questions I have like that is check APD websight and look up the part your trying to find out about. They list the years and models the parts fit and they have pictures so it's a good source of general information.
They list the bags and I bet you can get your answer there....

the shape is different- 68-9 is narrower. I'm sure you could make them interchange if you wanted to drill holes to relocate clips

What do you use to mount the washer bag? It has two large holes on the bag, but I want to use the correct hardware to mount it. Mine is going in the front driverside corner of the car, opposite of where the battery is.
Thanks,
Eric

We ended up with both the electric bags and the foot operated bags when we acquired the parts for AZ AMC Parts. They are both the same width but for 68/69 they mount on the rear of the passengers inner fender in front of the fan motor and on for those years you should see two flat hooks right behind the shock tower. As stated above, they are narrower than the ones on Americans and other cars that have them on the front drivers inner fender. Edited by amx39068 - Jun/11/2008 at 1:43pm |
