Hello
I have a 1973 AMX Javelin, with leaks in bouth front and rear glasses. To remove the glass i thinking on cut the rubber off, because I don´t want to take the risk of break the glass (I´m in Spain, and get a new one could be difficult) Anyone know ¿where I can find new rubber sealers for the job? |

Most auto glass shops here will build up urethane to make the new seal. That stated it really depends on the technician doing the work as my windshield is fine but the rear glass has a small leak.
Whatever you decide, don't through out or destroy the rubber positioning spacers as they will still be required. APD has the seal kits, bottom of the page: http://www.americanpartsdepot.com/amxdoors.htm

73 Javelins do not use rubber around front or rear windscreens. They either use 3/8 butyl or urethane.

3/8" butyl tape is black and looks like rubber. "Kits" are available from automotive glass shops.

Hey Pablo, if you havent deal with Glass before, get some professional help from an Glasshop.
better spend some bucks for their work, as having the hazzles of importing glas to europe. Make sure to take some mesaurments before removing the glas, or the trim wont fit. |
