So I ended up with a mildly built 258 out of a 1978 CJ-7.
My question is: Will the intake manifold, Borla header, and rocker cover off of my 1985 258 fit the 1978 motor? Thanks in advance, Jeff |

1981+ AMC 258's have a different valve cover/rocker cover, not sure if it's just a material difference (plastic vs steel) or if the design is actually different.

Thanks! I can live with the cover that come on the '78 if need be.
Anyone know about the intake and exhaust? |

Intake and exhaust, yes. Valve cover, no as I recall.
The 1981+ intake is heated electrically upon startup, then heated via coolant after a bit of run time so you need to decide if you need that for cool weather driving. Physically, they'll work. |

Correct. Also, if the 85 used a metric oil filter, the 78 will not unless you swap the fitting. |
