Hi.

I got a 73 Gremlin that needs a carburetor rebuild. It's a carter carb that kind of looks like a BBD. Does anyone know what the exact name/number of this carb is? The tag seems to be missing.. Also if anyone knows a place that offers rebuild kits for it, that would be killer.

Looks like an older Carter RBS one barrel . I say older as the newer ones per say have a round accelerator pump shaft and this one has a straight flat one. You need to know the year. There are some differences as per the year of use. LRDaum

Wow, I would doubt that is the original carb.  The body casting that says Ball and Ball Carburetor mfd. for Chrysler Corporation would suggest that.  Ball and Ball sold out to Carter in the '40's and the casting then read Mfd. by Carter Carburetor.

Well, the car was originally sold in Sweden if that matters...

The YF Carter was the original. That is easy to find.

Alright. Well I can't seem to find any rebuild kits for it anyways..

Gonna get one of those YF ones made out of chineseium. They cost as much as a rebuild kit here in Sweden.

Wish me luck!

I don't believe it's an RBS.  I think it is an old BBS.  I can't guarantee it but I'd bet a carburetor kit for a BBS would work.

the BBS that came as original equipment on my '65 dart wagon said ball & ball on the casting.
