I just had new tires put on the front, I also changed inner and outer tie rods, new upper and lower ball joints, new rubber bushings on strut rods, new rotors and calipers, also had the front end aliened and the car runs straight with no pulling to right or left. Stops straight as an arrow with no hands on the wheel. But I have picked up a vibration from start off up to about 45 mile's an hour. With trans in park or neutral there is no vibration except for the cam. I can rev it up in park and everything seems normal. I can feel it in the seat and steering wheel. I am wondering about the torque converter, could this cause a vibration like this, I have no idea what stahl the converter has. Trans fluid is nice and pink, looks and smells brand new. Does anybody have any ideas on what I should check? Thanks for any ideas in advanced. Ron

Could be as simple as u-joints. As cheap as they are, replace 'em!

Did you check the trans mount to see if the rubber is still attached to the metal?
I had on come apart and it caused a vibration. Nick

Was the vibration there prior to the new tires and front end work? If not I would take it back and hve the tires checked for balance and run out. I would tell them you are looking for a vibration that was not there before the new tires, be nice about it. You can balance a tire shaped like an egg, it still will not drive down the road nice. I would suspect the u-joints if the vibration is more under load and goes away if you let off the gas.

I might wonder about Strut Rod Bushings maybe....
When the car is going forward from a stop and up to speed the "load" on the front tires is pushing them back and compressing the Strut Rod Bushings slightly. This "load" is increased significantly when you apply the Brakes. This "load" is reversed when backing up and applying the brakes. When that is done, the Strut Rods are being pulled forward, trying to be pulled out of the Bushings. This "movement" although minimal can effect alignment settings slightly. Might want to do a couple few forward and back driveway "spirited" back and forth stops. It might kinda "settle things in" in the front suspension, with all the new bushings and stuff. Was it sat back down on the ground with all the new bushings BEFORE tightening things up?
