Which Code would be stamped in an AMC 15 with a 2,35 Ratio?

I know this is old but if it's a 2.35 on an AMC 15 then it's a L code.

That's how I always did a quick calculation of the ratio.

41 13 is 41 / 13 = 3.15, but they did the math for you also!

The only thing I could find was that the AMC20 used an "M" for a 4.10 gear with Trac-Loc limited slip differential in Jeeps. I'm pretty sure the Trac-Loc is just the Jeep name for Twin-Grip, but it may have been a different mechanism for locking the differential. The Jeep AMC20 center is the same as cars, so you could have a Jeep center. CJ AMC20s were 50.5" (narrow track) and 54.5" (wide track) wheel hub to wheel hub, FSJ rear axles were 57.8" (NT) and 62.3". Hornet V-8 axles are 58.5", so an FSJ NT rear axle should fit.

I found a listing in a 79 to 81 parts catalogue Group 9-1 AMC20 that has W 2.56:1 - track lock not available.

Definitely looks more like a "W" than an "M"!!! 2.56 gearing is about right for that year also. Dog off the line, but decent highway mileage with the three speed auto!
