Hi Rambler fans,
Just wondering if anyone has any info or pics of two tone or tri tone paint jobs on Ramblers? And if anyone knows if this was ever factory option. I'm thinking of painting my 65 classic but want to keep it in the original spirit of the thing so if two tone or tri tone paint jobs never rolled off the factory floor adorning a Rambler please let me know

In 64 two-tone was common, some other years as well, as already shown.
We had 2 Classics growing up. A wagon and a sedan.
Both had white roofs while the lower part or body was another color. They were original cars before I got my hands on them.

It seems to me I recall seeing Marlins with two-tone paint as well but that's not a fact, it's a memory.

My '64 wagon has a kind of goldish color on the roof and off white on the rest.

Tossing around the idea of a repaint myself.  Maybe a black roof and silver/dark grey body?

I would guess that a large proportion of AMC cars of that vintage were built with two-tone paint jobs. Seems to me AMC favored and promoted two-tones a little more than the other automakers in the '60's.

Look at Articboys website, he has hundreds of pictures of various AMCs.

Two tone Ramblers weren't rare at all, but you'd have to go back to the 50's to find any three toned cars.

There were many standard two-tone combinations in the 60s.  The two-tone chip charts were published in little leaflets and available at the dealers.   Joe

I can't remember my dad ever doing a Rambler in a single color.
he always did the roof in some contrasting color, usually white or black as he is/was very adventuresome LOL

Not factory paint scheme, but an example of two-tone on your exact model.
