I am in need of some advice and info. I am working on a 1964 rambler classic typhoon, and am having a hard time tracking down parts. I haven't been able to find a turn signal switch. I need the whole unit as the centering plastic parts on the ends of the switch are broken off. Does anyone know where to get one or a different part that will work? Thanks

Have you tried the AMC vendors?  KennedyAmerican, American Parts Depot, Rambler Parts (AKA Galvins)?
Past AMC's

1975 Gremlin X (new)

AMC switched over to Saginaw steering gear in 1966/1967 , depends a bit on which car your talking about. The older AMCs used Gemmer steering  , if I recall correctly. I believe they were bought out by TRW back in the day. Parts are unfortunately not common, but your best bet is the major AMC vendors Jeff Kennedy, Doug Noel at American Parts Depot, The Galvin's at Rambler parts and Blaser's AMC parts. Those are the big four full time AMC parts vendors. Any one of them will be able to give you a solid answer with one phone call. LRDaum

I got a NOS unit from Kennedy for my American.  The aftermarket unit sold as a replacement was a terrible fit.  I think your stoplight switch may route through your signal switch, they did on the Americans that year.  If so that would be another solid reason to spend extra on a NOS unit.
