Hello Guys,
I received the tilt column for my 66 Classic, and it is in good shape - Except - it is missing the turn signal switch. To me, it looks exactly like an early GM switch, the one down about half way, operated by a small cable, and want to know if I am correct in this? This would make finding a new switch SOOO easy. Thanks. Cricket

Has nobody ever had to replace the turn signal switch on their tilt column car?

Wish I could positively help you with this but my experience is limited with steering columns.

I know at some point in the 60s AMC begin installing GM steering columns, just don't what year exactly they began that.

Maybe some one can add something.

Thanks, it seems that these never go bad, but mine is missing, and I am having a hard time getting a replacement. I have not started swapping it over, so I want to wait till I get everything prepared. Cricket

A friend of ours has '66 Pontiac Bonneville that has a straight column and he needs a turn signal switch. When we tried to find one all we could find are for tilt column. Try looking on Rock, and O'Reilly for a '66 or '67 Pontiac switch with tilt wheel. They might have a photo that you can look at to get an idea of what that one looks like to see if it might be the proper configuration for you.

I'm in the middle of this myself, with my 65.   My turn signals are acting up terribly and I am thinking it is the switch.   I'll keep watching this post to see if you get your problem taken care of...slim

If yours is a tilt, Can you post a picture of your switch on the column? I will see what I can find. Thanks. Cricket

I looked at a friends tilt 65 Impala column, and the switch looks like it should be the same one, mounting looks the same, and the little cable from the upper section looks the same. I ordered a switch for a 65 Impala, so cross fingers, I hope it works. I realize I will have to make a few wiring changes, but I am just going to make a pigtail harness, myself, so I can swap back if needed.
