I have a 63 550 wagon. 3 speed on column, fixed column. I replaced the turn signal cam recently because one side was broken off and it wouldn't auto cancel on a right turn. Now the steering wheel clicks like crazy unless you keep it straight and any turn of the steering wheel causes the turn signal to cancel or even change to the opposite direction. I can't figure out what's wrong. I've been tempted to cut the ends off the cam to see if that's what's causing the problem. But if I'm wrong I've got to order another. I have considered ordering a replacement switch, but all I have seen available was used switches for 65 bucks. Any suggestions? I considered taking it back apart and taking some pics if it will help get it fixed.

There is a pin on the bottom of the steering wheel that hits the turn signal cam. It's been a while since I had one apart. On some models the pin can be moved, or it's on a removable plate. Seems one was on a spring like piece that was positioned under the steering wheel, but that may have been a different make.
