What size tire are you planning on running? Do you have a frame bench to work with? I'd cut only what you need to cut out to fit the tires under it, and then figure your desired ride height. I tubbed a foxbody mousetang droptop in school and had to do it on the floor and that was a HUGE pain in the neck. It can be done but you have to double and triple check the ride height of the car when your measuring for the mid-cross member the new frame rails back and the rear cross member, as well as where you plan on mounting the cross member to mount the coilovers to. Sounds like a fun project!
