I noticed my trunk lock was loose so I opened the trunk and removed the clip that holds the tumbler and reinstalled. Now my trunk will not unlock. I think I reinstalled it in the lock position. Its not a issue with the key. I hate to force it. |

I hate to have to tell you the bad news, but the only other way into that trunk is to take the back seat out. But the only way to take the back seat out is to take loose, 2 or 3 7/16ths or half inch nuts you can only access from the open trunk. You might be able to force the lock out without doing too much damage to the lip that holds the lock cylinder in. Or you might get lucky and someone has had the back seat out before and didn't re install those nuts, but don't count on that. Next time check the function of the lock before you close the trunk.

Thanks tyrodtom for the reply.
Which direction should I force the lock to turn? And I will take your advice to check the action before shutting the trunk. Getting forgetful in my old age! |
