What turns the trunk light on and off in a 69 AMX?  Is there a switch (similar to the door light switch in the front pillar) that turns the trunk light on and off when the trunk lid is opened or closed?

Or is there an internal contact inside the trunk light housing itself (mercury switch) that turns the trunk light on and off whenever the trunk lid is opened or closed?

The switch is within the light assembly. Hook up one hot wire and it is good to go.
Why Ramblers? Chicks dig 'em. Whatever it is, I can take it apart.

I sorta thought it might have been an internal contact in the bulb holder housing.  The trunk bulb in my 69 AMX is broken so I have to take the bracket hout and try to get the busted bulb out after the assembly is removed or just replace the whole assembly with another one I have.

If it is a disaster trying to remove the busted bulb from the holder (from the bulb base  and contacts being rusted together) then I'll just swap out the whole thing after checking to make sure the new one works and turns off when tipped.
