How do i id a BW auto tranny or a 727 need a front seal

We might be able to help you if you told us what car you want this for.  That's if it's still has it's original drive train.

  But in general all BW automatics put in AMCs had a separate bellhousing from the transmission.  The 727 or whatever Mopar based automatics had one piece bellhousing and transmission case. AMC used several different Borg Warner transmissions, and a lot more of the Chrysler transmissions than just the 727.  And to order that part you need you need to id the exact transmission you have.

There's several sites online that will help you id the exact transmission by it's pan shape.  You'll have to get under the car and look to be sure.

It is in a 73 jav 401 car built in aug 72 sorry my typing is so bad
