I searched and I'm sorry if this topic is buried in another thread somewhere. First time attending Kenosha since 1980 and towing the AMX :( So I checked "needing trailer storage" on the registration. To those that have attended at Kennedy park, is there a reasonable location to drop of the trailer and tow vehicle and basically forgot about them until I leave? I plan to use the AMX around town. I will be there Friday and Saturday nights and cant wait!

I've been planning to do the same thing. There is supposed to be trailer parking available for us at Indian Trail High School starting today (Tuesday). I spoke to the folks at Kenosha History Center last week, who told me (as I was pre-registered) to stop by their office and sign in when I got to town. I also called them today because I was running late and they said not to worry as they would be open until 8 p.m. I got there at 7:30 and they were closed. I then drove over to the high school but there were no other trailers and nobody there either. Just a big, open parking lot with no fences and no security. I wasn't sure if there was a designated area for us and didn't want to park in the wrong area and get towed, plus I didn't know if I needed some kind of parking pass… not that I would have left my car there anyway.
I was a little hot about all this as I had nowhere else to park the trailer, but fortunately the host at the AirBNB where I'm staying was ok with me parking on the street in front of the house tonight. It's a quiet residential neighborhood and I feel a whole lot better about that than parking it in that b!g, open, unsecure parking lot. Once the car is off the trailer I'll feel better about it, but there is no way I'd leave my AMX there. Edited by CamJam - Jul/25/2017 at 10:57pm |

Thanks CamJam! hopefully you get it worked out today. Please let us know if you got a spot at Indian Trail High School and if stopping at the History Center before hand was the thing to do.

Left my truck/trailer at the high school at the last homecoming. Had no problems. I plan on parking my truck there Thursday. I also plan on sleeping in my truck while I'm there.

No parking permit is required, but to quote the Kenosha History Center director "I don't know much about it other than we secured parking there." You might just as well park at a Wal Mart as there is no security and the lot is open to anyone 24/7.
So far mine is the only trailer there, but with thunderstorms due late this afternoon I will be putting my car back on the trailer tonight and due to the complete lack of security will find somewhere else to park it for the night. |

Thanks everyone. I'm sure there will be more trailers there towards the weekend. Is the high school area that bad or is everyone just being super cautious with the safety of your trailer?

Securing parking is a little different than secured parking!

It's not a bad part of town or anything like that, just wide open to everyone and mostly empty except for some people using the tennis courts. I left my truck and trailer there and am driving the AMX around town. Watch the speed bumps going into the parking lot. They are unpainted so just look like patches in the asphalt, but if you hit one going more than 5 mph you'll knock the fillings out of your teeth. |
