with a puller if you have one, otherwise I have used, wet bread. It works! done it several times on different engines. If the crank is solid on the inside of the bushing just find a socket or something that will fit the ID of the bushing as close as you can get it. then fill the bushing with wet bread, not soggy just wet, until its full, then use the socket to keep pushing more bead in until it starts pushing out the bushing. Looks strange but it does work.

Fill it with grease and drive in a wooden dowel the same diameter as the bushing. It will pop right out.

I already tried the grease trick. I doubt it's been out since '69. I had a screw in grease gun powered "puller" but I can't find it. Worked great for TH400 crank sleeves.

It must be really tight. I think I got one out by building up a piece of wood or steel rod or something with masking tape and it still came out.

I think they (AMC) might have used the same bushing for standards and autos on their sixes. I don't remember changing it when I switched over to auto but that was about 35 years ago.

Wet paper is less messy than grease.
