Since the price of gas is dominating the national news, people are scrambling for alternatives. The funny thing is that AMC already had an electric car. Always ahead of their time...the 1967 3 passenger AMC Armitron electric car prototype.

There is talk of making an AMX/3 reproduction as an electric vehicle.

I'm seeing alot more electric vehicles on the road now.Used to be "Ah look , What is that?"

Tom - the Tesla electric sports car is a good argument in favor of electric vehicles right now. 0-60 acceleration in under 5 seconds, top speed of 135mph, and a range of about 150 miles. Those kinds of performance specs would probably best any conventional running gear you could come up with! I've read where there's now a waiting list for new Teslas, and they're selling at nearly $100K a pop.
