I'm running 8"X 15" on the front of my 73 Javelin with a 4.5" backspace and Larry's bar kit with  no issues. I have 235/60 tires on them.

I have a set of polished torque thrusts for sale i just took off my 73 Javelin.  16x7 in front with 235/60s and 16x8 in back with 255/50's.  Front tires are almost new.  Back tires are really bald.  Not sure why the back ones always wear out faster.  Priced very reasonably. PM me if your interested.

I looked in book that came with kit and it was 8 inch rims and 9 inch tire. Not much for wheel clearance offset advice in book.
Thanks for the info

You dont need a 9" wheel to run a 9" tire. I think Tire Rack list wheel sizes for tires.
With that you could run a 8" wheel with a 9" tire and thinking a 8" wheel would be easier to get as I have not heard of 9" as a common size.

I would like to put min of 9" wide rims on my javelin does any one know what back spacing/rim offset I need for the rims on front and back wheels so the tires don't hit on the body and wheel wells?  I have the Larry M road racing sway bar kit on my car and he recomends use of 9" wide tires. He has sold a number of these kits over the years just wondering what other people have used for rim and tires sizes on the 71-74 javelin?
