Not much to do with the Gremlin itself -- just thought I would post some news, that the new Virginia sniper(s) may have been driving a Gremlin -- and that because it is not so common, it could help police track them down.

ROFLMAO
Obviously no one did any research. Rare, maybe. But not extremely rare.

Obviously those cops and reporters aren't forum members. LOL
That's almost an insult, really. RUNNING models extremely rare?? Rust-free models, perhaps. Tell that young forum member with the white Gremlin that it's an EXTREMELY rare car! |

At least it's a nice looking Gremlin (all one color with a stripe).

I would say it could be extremely rare....think of how many Gremlins period you see compared to other older cars...let alone newer stuff like the average Ford Taurus, or Dodge Neon that there are hundreds of thousands of.
If we weren't AMC/Rambler nuts like we all are and didn't seek out and hunt for AMCs everywhere we'd probably think they were barely any around too haha.

I drove my 77 Gremlin to work today and a guy in a Chevy truck nearly ran off the road as he passed my car while gawking at it and pointing it out to the passenger in his truck.

Stupid criminal. Picked one of the most identifiable cars possible in a day and age when their numbers are sorely depleted.

No joke. If he would have been in a Honda they never would have found him.
