Yes, but worth the trip.

I go and get there around 7:30am, Saturday morning.  At that time there is a GOOD amount of classic cars cruising already.  I take the route North then South and takes close to an hour.  Make the loop twice, then that's enough for me.  Then that's the time to find a place to park, and sit out and watch the rest of the day.

Last year I saw the Dukes of Hazzard car, the Batmobile, Ghostbusters ambulance and the Monkee mobile!  So big it draws everything and anything.  It is something that's hard to believe.  And yes, there are too many people, too many mini van (never been able to seperate the commoners), they do post that cruisers stay in the right two lanes.  But to basically see almost any kind of car in one day (or two, or three...)  too cool.  Worth it despite the crowd.

Then to Greenmead on Sunday, normally around 100 cars in our show, plus vendors, and a great historical park setting.
O Man!  I am soooo ready, just thinking about summer!

Been January since starting this post and here we are in August, weeks away from our BIG AMC All Family show in Livonia!  IF you have the time, Saturday will be the Woodward Dream Cruise, right before our show.

Normally have between 80-100 cars, 20-25 vendors, plenty of food, drawings, music and more!
Again this year the AMC Designer Team will be revealing the Metropolitan of the Future clay model.  Also word is they are working on a plastic/foam model that will have chrome trim, clear glass and tires/wheels available from Chrysler corp!

Here is my "official" invitation to my other AMC families within the area or driving distance, to be a part of our show.  Pre Registration is available at www.greatlakesamc.org and Paypal accepted.  Few days left to pre register, save a couple dollars and a free poster.
Saving you a spot,
hope to see you soon!

UPDATE...
Learned that this is the rendering of the actual clay model.
This artwork will be available for purchase to help support the project.

Also learned that the foam 3D model talked about is in the plan but not ready for Greenmead show.  Hope all can make it

A week and a day away!
Tomorrow is our GMM for the final plans and goody bag stuffing.  Even after 26 years, there's still a wonder IF everything is set, and it will be.  Getting good news of folks coming that we haven't seen for a year or so.  Did a mailing to members, past and present for a reminder.  Getting advertising in place and reminders.  Also I usually do a CL thing with folks selling their AMC's and so far have a couple folks confirming they'll be there!

IF you haven't noticed Muscle Car Review was doing a blip on the Woodward Dream Cruise and a member of ours contacted them and told them a good way to finish the week of the Dream Cruise would be to visit Greenmead for a good gathering if AMC's.  Well when you look on their coverage of events for the week of Dream Cruise, there we are at the bottom of the list!  Then the other page is the e-mail sent about the show.  Good job Dave!

So if you haven't made plans to join us, just come along anyway, we got a spot for your and will be a great day in "AMC Land".

Jeff,

My son and I are flying up for the WWDC on Saturday, and we're staying over for the AMC show on Sunday.  Look forward to seeing you there.

I have convinced two Mopar buddies to travel with me from Central Wisconsin to the Woodward Dream Cruise and then the Great lakes show.  I will be bringing my "B" scheme SC/Rambler and have two questions.
1. Is there a host hotel?
2. Does anyone have a gaurenteed parking spot for the Woodward cruise that we could join in at?

Thanks,
Mark Fletcher
