I really think the bumper looks best just as it is now-all orange.

I am not a big fan of the blacked out taillights but I think that would look good. You could also do the same on the side markers too. I would say if you do to pick up another set to do and use the worst set to darken.

I would suggest leaving the bumper the way it is now.

Thanks for the chop...Exactly what I was thinking..just the inset similar to the 71-2 style.

This will be something to mull over once the rest of the car is complete, maybe i'll make it out of vinyl so I can remove if I don't like it.

Looks good, I think satin black (same black as taillamps) on the inset of the bumper would look good (like the photoshoped photo)

Dave I can only wish mine would come out half as nice as yours Thumbs Up
As for the changes I think the back bumper black would look good but to get a good feeling ask one of the Photo Shop guys do it up for you.
Being you are doing the Orange/Black thing maybe the door hanldes & emblems black too?
The way you are going before you know it you will be out driving it.

Looks good! I think you should get the car together then decide on changing things here or there.

Ok...still have lots to do but making progress. Still have to adjust the bumpers a bit but they are close. I want to split the height difference at the rear to lower the bumper a bit too even out the gap at valance and tail lights. Toying the idea of blacking out the top portion of the bumper similar to one of the bubble fender years options...thoughts yay or nay?

As you can see I added a few small details such as

No antennna
Body color bumpers, door handles and front trim
Smoothed rear bumper
removed the SST door and qtr top trim
Blacked out tail lights
Notched valance for exhaust
Solid black Mark Donohue decal - No reflective backing (Not applied yet)

It still will have the stainless glass trim and the hood scoops will still have the chrome trim rings.

Up in the air still about the door handles....possibly may go back to chrome but that can be a swap down the road if it annoys me too much.

Car will keep the magnums and those will be painted a satin black to go with the stripe.
