It's looking great - those seats look perfect and the door panels cleaned up well.

It's been a while since the last post. Leona got some new clothes this weekend. New carpet in the rear (where the old rubber mat had deteriorated) and I reused the rubber mat in the front after some refurbishment. I replaced the old front bench seat with bucket seats from another 400 series 62 classic wagon I parted out a few years ago. I had them recovered in the original pattern fabric (still available for both SMS and Antique Auto Interiors). I cleaned up the orginal door panels and replaced some of the arm rests with spares I got from a forum member. Still need to do some engine work, but I'd like to use the old wagon this summer. I also installed front seat belts and anchors for the rear seat belts. I purchased the rear belts online today. They still make those "sister hook" anchors that are made for eye bolts like in my wagon. The car had no seat belts from the factory and the old lady who owned it didn't see fit to install belts even though she was raising two sons.

Leona is now on the cusp. I warmed her up this morning and added antifreeze to the cooling system. But she has a knock and started blowing blue smoke. I'll do a hot compression test later this afternoon, but I think that original 118,000 mile motor needs an overhaul. So i'll part with her for $2000. This has what I can remember has been done:
New (gas tank renu) gas tank and fuel sender. New brakes all the way around (factory lockheed master cylinder, wheel cylinders, hoses) Power coated wheels and new name brand tires. Recored radiator. New hoses, water pump. New fuel pump I have a replacement hood for the dented one. I have an NOS grille Patched a small place on the driver's floor. New deluxe reclining seats should be out of the upholstery shop in a few days. New carpet ordered from StockI nteriors. Added seat belts for the front seat (there were none with the car). Replace tail light lenses. Rebuit cylinder head with all NEW intake and exhaust valves (about $700 worth of work). New Delco distributor advance. I have too many projects and willbe working on my Gremlin this winter. Two Javelins and my AMX are in line behind that. Check the previous photos on this thread and I an also send more detailed photos. She deserves to stay in California with those original black plates, but she's for sale to anyone. Joe

Beautiful car! I resurrected one, too; she sat in a field since 1973!
If you're local to the bay area it'd be cool to get both wagons together on a cruise.

Perfect. All Wagons need something in it or on it that's woodgrained.

I bought a present for the 62 Classic wagon last week and it came in the mail today. It's a real artifact of the 40s or 50s and appears to have a galvanized metal interior.

Excellent Work!!! Sure wish my '62 could have been saved. Looks like your hood buckled just like mine. Some Smoothie Wheels with the reverse baby moon caps would look awesome. It's a shame Mac McCoy past away so you could get some carpet.

Install some new carpet and that'll take the interior to a whole new (comfortable) level!
