I bought my Hornet X in July '73 when they were still in the old Don Rice Rambler location. It sat in the dealer's window for several months and I couldn;t resist the Trans-Am Red color any longer - so I bought my third AMCand forged it into a racer.

Sorry, Charles. I've worked in Glendale for over 30 years, right at the southern end of the "Brand Boulevard of Cars", but never had any reason to go to an AMC dealer there. I did own a '76 Hornet X hatchback that was bought in Long Beach, so we probably had it serviced there. Great car - wish I still had it!

Thanks Glendale Jim. The roofline gives it away. In my fuzzy memory I was thinking it was on the east side of the street for some reason.
Does that Glendale Jim name mean you knew of Don Rice and later, Division AMC? I never took any pictures there darn-it! I was too busy enjoying the place.
I knew lots of folks there since my first new car, a 1967 Rouge 290 4-spd. My favorites were owner Bob Stange and the parts counter guy, "Booker". Edited by Charles Smiley - Mar/31/2013 at 2:48pm |

![]() Here's an oldie for sure. Judging by the cars, I'd say this is late 20's or into the 30's. The location is near the foot of historic Baker Street in Nelson, BC. Today, it's been abandoned, and for quite some time. It used to be a Speedy Auto Glass place for a while, but the building has been unused for over 10 years now. |

I am still searching for any historical information on Hooker AMC in Sherman, Texas.
I think they were an AMC dealer from 1974-1979? |
