So I had removed the head to machine a broken stud and the machine shop also mill the head since it was 8 thousands off. Now I have a occasional ticking that comes and goes not real loud but can be heard when engine running. Could that be a lifter or do I need to adjust the rockers?

Just ordered lifters, "made in US". Half the boxes were US and the other half Mexico. One hydraulic lifter came locked up, no movement, nada.
6 weeks for new lifters!
Buddy is on his second set of Comps, failed again - new cam and lifters again, professional builder - decades. Break in oil, ZDDP added, a 340 Chrysler.
Don't have any advice any more on manufacturer, but like always, wash the lifters in var-sol (you will be surprised at the crud that comes off new lifters), dry and sit in 10W oil overnight. If a hydraulic lifter does not move perfectly smooth, don't put it in!
Take a scribe and try to mark the side, at the bottom within 1/16". If it makes a mark, the lifter is too soft, replace it.
SOO much junk out there!
