Part of the info:
Beginning in 1993, there was no T5 available with the GM V8. All fourth generation F body T5s have a Ford T5 bellhousing bolt pattern (Figure 22-3). The 26-spline ´ 1⅛-inch input shaft is similar to the earlier V8 input shaft, but the pilot is longer than that used in the earlier models (Figure 22-4). The front bearing retainer is the same as used on the 1983-1992 GM T5.

Looking for more info on the GM T5

Nick

so, looking at those images it appears one may need to swap the input on that newer GM trans to the Ford trans from 93 to whenever they ended.
I hope I get this right and am not repeating anyone.
In 93 Ford went to the SN95 body. For some reason they chose to move the engine forward in relation to the trans and so they simply chose to make a longer input and different bellhousing.
That long input makes this series of T5 ideal for swaps as it adds an inch or so of length. That usually means you gain enough room for a handy dandy adapter plate!

There should be pics around on line to show the difference.
I have one or two out of the trans somewhere.

I take it they're all gone then? Bummer. I was really considering one. That's what I get for waffling!

Last post said three was left. If they don't have any right now ask what the minimum order is. I think it's five. Looks like there might be two takers already. Ask to leave a deposit of $50 for the next order. Getting one in 3-6 months is better than not getting one at all, and that gives you time to save some dough and/or look for a trans and maybe even build an engine. If we don't support people who make things like this they won't be made.

That's what I was thinking.  I've heard the 3 speed in my Rebel isn't the best and I'm not a big fan of that unsynchronized 1st gear!

I'm sure once I get it down ill be cruising around town but I would very much like to be hauling around town that 196 isn't a slouch and Haveing a tranny that I can get parts and serviced anywhere for a reasonable price sounds like the way to be especially if ill give the car to the kids someday the more parts I can standardized on the ride the better for them in the future I.e common disc brakes common trans etc

If I had known about this a year ago, I probably would've saved a lot of money on my '71... instead I did a '72 engine build and 5 speed swap.
