Started rebuilding my T-10 and cannot come up with a way to remove the bearing from the input shaft other than trying to find a transmission shop willing to do it.
I was going to use some bearing jaws between the bearing and the gear to support it and use a hydraulic press but there is just not enough room to do that without risking damage to the gear teeth. I was also going to try placing the jaws in the snap ring groove of the bearing and tightening the crap out of it, but there is not much engagement there. The bearing seems to be on there good so I'm not sure I want to go crazy with hydraulic pressure if I don't have a good grip on it. My latest plan is to drill out the rivets on the retaining strap of the bearing and removing the balls (sorry guys...) and outer sleeve. I could then use the inner race to grab hold of, maybe even add some heat to it in the process. Anyone have any suggestions or tricks for this operation? Thanks.

That job usually just takes a good bearing splitter of the correct size and hydraulic press.

Thanks for the reply.
I got the bearing off the shaft. Went with my plan to remove the ball bearings/outer race. I then clamped a bearing splitter around the the inner race and pressed it off. Had to grind some of the outer race away to make enough clearance to remove the bearings, but it wasn't horrible. Probably not the most elegant solution but it worked.
