I have been working with AMC T-10's for large of number of years (about 30 years)and notice that some information said that 2.43 ratio(T-10P) was used from 1967 to 1969 and from then on was the 2.23 (T-10V)well I have over some years have seen that the T-10 2.43 was used also in 1970 and 1971. Not sure how to explain this, I have 2.43 T-10s with main case date code of 1966 which would be correct for 1967 to 1969 with ID plate that said T-10P. I also have 2.43 T-10s that the main case date code is late 1969 and the ID plate said T-10V came out of 1970 and 1971 cars. So I am not sure how this was, and yes all the 2.43 T-10s had the 4 grooves. All my 2.23 T-10s have ID plate that are T-10V, date code on cases are 1968 and some later which it should be. This is just for your information so go by the grooves on the input shaft because it may have the incorrect ID plate on it.
