The timing on my sixty three classic six 770 wagon is quite off, and the distributor is not moving anytime soon. It budged a little with a pipe wrench on the shaft, but I don't wan to tear it up. Help!

Assuming you loosened the bolt on the hold down clamp, the distributor should move freely. If it doesn't spray some PB Blaster around the base and the block and let it sit. BTW, which 196 do you have? The cast iron block or the aluminum block?

It's a cast iron block, and fortunately we got it fixed up.
