You may consider the police converter used in the matador around 72-74. Not sure what the stall is but its slightly higher that the stock 12". The police converter is a 11" dia. I have one that i bought 30 years ago and never used, was not a new one, but reman. Just something to consider. Maybe some one here knows more about the police converter.

Ah, what 6768rogues said reminded me of something,
The car and combination of parts, rear gears, and rear tires should be such that the engine RPM's at cruise highway speed should be HIGHER than the Converter Stall Speed. Which I would imagine should be easy with 4.56 Rear Gears
