Norm's car is perfect, I can't just jump in mine and go do 200+ft burnouts any day I want or drive a couple hundred miles in a weekend with my buddies. Its amazing what .6 seconds  difference looks like on video that was an 11.0 for norm and 10.4x for me.

Right now in my life, I don't have time for that stuff anyway so I forfeit that to be a bit quicker at the track. I tell anyone with any AMC interest, mimic Norm's setup is is SO basic and works SO SO well.

Thanks,
Kyle

i just need about a hundred more hp, which i'm going to work on this winter, and i'll be happy with it, its lacking in the power dept, not that its a dog or anything but i want it to run 10's N/A. i got a set of 502 heads given to me recently and i'm going to send them to get some port work and match the intake to them also, that alone should put me in the 10.80 low 10.90 range consistently....

this is with the 275-60-15 mickey thompson pro radials, not some e70-14 bias tire (for the haters)

You're in the arena and doing it.  Looks like a lot of fun.  Congrats to both of you for racing the AMC's.

You should have tried driving my 78' gremlin I ran in NHRA Stock Elim. When I sold everything in 2010 I was running in T/SA. In good weather/air I could run 13.30s. Back then the "new" factory mustangs, challengers, the camaros were just starting out, I had three elimination runs against them. I was going about 95 mph at the stripe, the mustangs were going 9.40s- 9.50s at about 155 mph. I really didn't have much of a problem with them because I was at the point where I could dial my car within about .02- .03  of my dial. I made a decision just before the finish to stay in it or scrub the brakes, it was interesting though. I went 3-0 against them. Last year a new camaro, with a well known family involved in Mopar racing hemis built a camaro that in Stock Elim. ran low 8.00 et's at 160+ mph. That's quicker than all but the two or three of the quickest times in Super Stock. I have no doubt David Barton will run a 7 sec. et in 2017.
Those are two very nice AMC index cars.
