Hey all, as some of you know, I'm working on a 66 Rambler Rebel that has been sitting for 20 years.

Not surprisingly, the brakes are seized.  I can't get the pedal to move up or down.

Any ideas as to what to look for?  I was thinking about filling the master cylinder and trying to re-bleed the brakes and see if that gets me anywhere.

I'm thinking that there was obviously a reason the brakes are seized, if it's because they're dry there may be another issue.

Any input would be great, thanks!

The whole system will have to be rebuilt. All of it.

I haven't even looked at it, I'm guessing it's all bad, my main focus has been making it run.

I planned on rebuilding the drums and running new lines (possibly a cheap disk conversion kit?).  What else do you guys think it will need?

I would spray w-d -40 with the hose end on all linkage points and let set a day or two.
then spray it again. Sometimes the drums rust together and use a hammer to pound on the drums with the wheels off and try to get them to rotate. Don't hit them to hard they will crack and break. Good luck. The dog.

As most have said rebuild the whole system.
Now from what you posted it sounds like the pedal does not move?
Because you are going to replace the master pull it away from the booster, has a booster right? And see if the pedal moves then. If not you will need to unbolt the booster from the bracket/firewall and see if the pedal will move then.
By removing each item and testing you can find what the cause is and then fix it.

BTW when I was rebuilding my 70 Javelin I found the brake pedal pivot rusted and had vary limited movement. After fixing it and putting the car back together it sat for a long time and when I went to move it found the brake pedal would not move at all. I knew it was not the pivot assy. So I did what I posted above. With master off the booster pedal would not move, booster off bracket and pedal moved.
The booster rusted up inside from the cleaning I did on it. I was able to get it to move but will send the booster out to get rebuilt someday as the car if far from the road.
Good luck
