I am out of a jeep and will not back up. I also slip slide into third gear. Am I an easy fix or do I need to be rebuilt?

I would say that since your owner pulled you out and you cannot have your line and apply pressures checked in operation, that you need a rebuild.  Your owner may get a ATSCO manual for you and air test your various circuits for leakage and fix anything he/she finds.  But then you might as well be rebuilt after all that.  And might I add that your typing is the best I have seen in a TorqueFlite and nearly on par with my own BorgWarner.  Are you bilingual also?

There are two threaded holes to pull the pump. Two slide hammers with 3/8 x 18 thread work best but one carefully used works also. I have used a chain bolted to both hols as a hammer to remove the pump also.

This is the pump bushing and it is severely damaged. This kind of wear is often caused by one or mor of the engine dowel pins missing or a broken flex plate.

carefully check the gears and housing where the gears go, if the bushing is that trashed there could be excessive wear in the gears and gear housing as well. plus the converter hub will be junk.
from your entry description your direct clutches are most likely trashed also.

This is the pump stater support, top. Pump gears, center. Pump body under the pump gears.  Inspect for wear like any other oil pump, there are clearance specs for the gears that should be checked. Sometimes you will see signs of metal transfer that is not good. Bushings should have little to no wear and no gouges. Often the outer surface of the pump gears are worn and grooved. The back side of the stater support not  shown has two sealing rings. the grooves wear to wide sometimes. I always replace the pump bushing and sealing rings with new.  Unexpectantly the body and gears look in good shape so I dont have pictures of bad gears for you.

A  new pump bushing on the left compared to the thrashed bushing on the right. Almost as bad as a rod bearing.

This is the valve body, it has ten 1/4 inch bolts that hold it to the main case. Three at the front and three at the rear of the case. Four around the accumulator. If you look at the three holes at the rear you will see that the middle one is oval shaped. In a 727 the bolt hole in the case is to one side of the hole and in 904-998 trannys it is moved to the other side of the hole. Better picture of this latter.

This is the valve body off the tranny. The rod pointing at you in the picture is the park rod, it reaches back into the tailhousing to operate the park pawl. It is different on the 904-998 transmissions

Under the valve body is an accumulater. Shown is the typical spring arrangement. But I have seen then with a spring only on top. only on the bottom, springs top and bottom or no springs at all. Some shift kits use different springs or block movement altogether.
