Not sure this a problem, but thought I'd ask. I had my 1971 Javelin AMX transported to Kenosha by a guy that I used in the past and we were careful loading it up at home to make sure the straps were not scratching anything around the rear shocks and gas tank. I didn't verify when he loaded it up in Kenosha and found when I had it back home that the one shock had a bunch of scratches and a dent from the tie down strap. I can repaint and fill the dent, but was wondering about the dent giving performance problems on the shock? I removed the shock and it compresses without any issues and does not leak. I'm just not that clear on how a oil filled shock performs and if a dent makes any difference? It's on the bottom half of the shock, about 1/16" deep. It's an original NOS AMC heavy duty shock, so I want to keep it as long as I can. Thanks Steve
